Rainy day Activities

It seems that lately the wet weather has chosen time and again to fall on weekends. Why it doesn't have the decency to do so while we're at work during the week, we'll never know.

It may be overcast, but you can still live your best life around Manly Harbour Village on a rainy weekend. Here's a few ideas.

1. Indulge at Breakfast

Chocolate Pastries - Le Bistro, Katsu Chicken Benedict - Groundhog Social, French Toast - Cambridge Lane Espresso.

Sure, it's not easy to get out from under the covers first thing in the morning, but look at all the lovely things waiting for you if you do! Warm up with a coffee and a particularly decadent pastry or brekky dish at one of the many cafes in and around the village.

2. Get some Retail Therapy

Neapolitan Skirt - Ebb and Flow Boutique, Browse Zulu Lamp - Style + Error, Spring Florals - Flowers on Cambridge

Need a cuddly blanky or a soft new cushion to snuggle up and watch the rain? Cambridge Parade is home to a varied collection of homewares, gifts, fashion and furniture stores, perfect for your rainy day browsing, and all are open on weekends!

3. Explore Massage and Magic

Facial Treatment - Endota Spa, White Safe - Apothecary Botanica

Embrace calm, unwind and leave your stresses behind with a facial treatment or massage at Endota Spa. Or cleanse your space with sacred plants and delve into a world of oils, tarot, tea and crystals at Apothecary Botanica (located on the Esplanade). Find out more about personal services available at Manly.

4. Raining = Reading

Treat the kids to some wonderful stories in the whimsical surroundings of The Mad Hatters Bookshop. And while you're there, ask about their upcoming events, like the popular monthly Book Club (for grown-ups).

5. Add a little Spice to your Life

Chilli Stir Fry - Thai Boat, The Raeburn Pizza- Lido Italia, Black Pepper Beef - Marina Crest

Things could get a little heated in the kitchen tonight with a sprinkle of chilli, some spicy pepperoni or a dash of black pepper. With over 2,000 restaurant seats in Manly and a plethora of takeaway options, there's something to warm your socks right off while it drizzles outside.

6. Don't forget your Essentials!

The Team at Manly Pharmacy, Cheese and veggies at IGA Manly

Our essential retail, grocery and personal goods staff surely get a little lonely on rainy days, so why not take advantage of the smaller crowds, grab your groceries and say hi! There's a great range of general stores within the precinct.

7. Buy a House?

Ok, maybe that's a little audacious. But if you're like us, and find intricate miniature building models fascinating, a visit to the 191 Stratton display centre could be right up your alley. And who knows, you might just fall in love with your next home.

There really are so many reasons to visit Manly Harbour Village - this beautiful piece of Brisbane's Bayside. And even though the sun's decided to be a little shy, there's still plenty to see and do to make the most of showery, stormy days.
