The Sub-branch was formed on the 26th September 1936 with many members coming from the nearby Wynnum RSL and also local citizens. Members are Service and Ex Service men and women who have come together for mutual support and to provide Welfare for Serving and Ex-service persons. Apart from the all important aspect of Welfare our objective is to keep alive the memory of Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.
Our Executive Committee meets regularly and members attend South East District and State conferences to keep members informed with up to date matters of interest to veterans and the community. A representative also attends the Manly Chamber of Commerce meeting and personnel are available for attendance at Funerals to perform the traditional Poppy Service for the Ex-service deceased and assist at Citizen Member’s Funerals if requested.
We are ordinary people trying to improve the welfare of our members and the community – Do you have what it takes? Come and join us.
