In partnership with Brisbane Festival, we're excited to present the Taste of Manly - Sunday 11 September 2022, from 10am to 5pm. Free family event, with restaurant pop-ups, beverages, face painting, giant games, and of course local performances and the Street Serenades concert. The Moreton Bay Discovery Centre and Museum is situated on the William Gunn Jetty, and allows for international tourists and Queenslanders to discover the Bay through the provision of educational, historical and eco-tourism experiences. The centre supports environmental values and sustainable uses and enjoyment of Moreton Bay and its waterways, islands and beaches. MORETON BAY DISCOVERY CENTRE The Moreton Bay Discovery Centre Museum is located on William Gunn Jetty, in the heart of Manly Harbour Village and Marina, on Quandamooka Country. It showcases the natural and historical wonders of Moreton Bay for local, interstate and international visitors. The Discovery Centre supports environmental values and sustainable uses to help protect the rich, biodiverse local environment and unique marine wildlife of Moreton Bay for current and future generations to experience. Where else in the Brisbane bayside community can you see vision of dugongs, turtles, dolphins, manta rays and the thousands of amazing migratory shore birds that call Moreton Bay home? The Discovery Centre encourages learning about Moreton Bay’s colonial history, with visual displays of St Helena Island, Fort Lytton National Park and Peel Island. Growing local and regional tourism is informed and serviced by an accredited Tourism and Visitor Information Centre adjacent to the Discovery Centre. Use of the Discovery Centre by the local community enhances our sense of place in Manly Village, particularly when connected to the many land and sea festivities in the Manly and Wynnum area. THE MALL A big thank you to our local community and traders for all your support over the past few months, while The Mall has undergone a refresh. The team has worked incredibly hard over the past few months working on the refresh. The focus has been on maintaining the character and essence of the building, whilst still completing maintenance, and creating an inviting space to shop, eat and connect. With the refresh now complete, we hope our local community and our visitors are able to continue popping in to support our wonderful traders.
